The National SAR Council has met for its annual meeting in Sydney in November 2006. The major outcome of the meeting was the progression of the incorporation of the Land SAR Operations Manual into the National SAR Manual; and the raised importance of developing common reporting of statistics for SAR incidents. The National Search and Rescue Manual has been accepted by the Australian Defence Force (ADF) as the standard procedural guide for coordinating ADF search and rescue activities within the Australian SRR. The letter of promulgation can be seen on page 3 of the National Search and Rescue Manual.
